About Us
Our Story
Hands Free Learning began with a simple belief: children often make their greatest progress when someone has the time to truly see how they learn.
Before developing the learning center, Hands Free Learning served families through tutoring in a smaller setting. The experience reinforced the value of individualized instruction, strong relationships with parents, and teaching children at the point of need rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Meet the Founder
Ama Olive Akerele
Hands Free Learning is founded and led by Amarachukwu Akerele, a certified educator with credentials in elementary education and special education and experience teaching and tutoring children with a range of academic needs.
Her approach is grounded in the belief that effective teaching begins with understanding the individual child: what the child already knows, where the gaps are, what motivates them, and which strategies help learning click.
At HFL, that philosophy becomes practical through small groups, differentiated instruction, targeted intervention, hands-on experiences, enrichment, and close partnership with parents.
Our Vision:
Hands Free Learning envisions a thriving personalized learning community where every child is known, challenged, supported, and free to grow. We are building an educational model in which strong academics, individualized teaching, curiosity, play, character, intervention, enrichment, and family partnership work together rather than compete.
Faqs
HFL is a teacher-led learning center offering a two-day homeschool program, tutoring and academic intervention, individualized educational support, and enrichment in a small-group environment.
HFL is being developed as a learning center and homeschool support option, not presented on this website as a traditional private school. Final legal and program descriptions should match the center’s actual operating structure at launch.
It is designed for homeschool families who want structured teacher-led academics, enrichment, and community for part of their week while maintaining flexibility in their overall homeschool plan.
Parents remain responsible for their family’s overall homeschool plan. HFL can provide guidance about continuity between HFL days and home learning, depending on the program and curriculum arrangement.
HFL uses teacher-curated curriculum and quality instructional resources selected according to student needs. We may also collaborate with families who already use a preferred homeschool curriculum.
Our Approach
Known. Supported. Challenged.
We want children to be known as individuals, supported where they need help, and challenged where they are ready to grow.
- Start with the learner, not just the grade level.
- Use small groups to create more opportunities for meaningful teacher attention.
- Differentiate instruction rather than expecting every child to learn the same way.
- Build strong foundations before rushing ahead.
- Combine academics with curiosity, creativity, movement, and hands-on experiences.
- Communicate with parents as partners.
- Help students grow in both skill and confidence.
